Rolf began leading the wolf-moose project in the early 1970s.  In 2006 he retired from the university and now he devotes a greater portion of his time to the project and sharing his knowledge about the wonder of wolves and moose with others.
Rolf O. Peterson
Seemingly endless - this is Rolf’s knowledge of wolves and moose and the natural history of just about anything associated with Isle Royale.

Rolf will also walk any distance and spend any amount of time to see something he hasn’t yet seen on Isle Royale, learn something he hasn’t yet learned, or collect another moose bone.  Every bone is sacred.
