Don E. Glaser

Most of what we learn about Isle Royale’s wolves and moose is learned while looking out the windows of the “Flagship,” a small plane with room for a pilot and one observer.

Don is the project’s pilot.  He  has been flying for the wolf-moose project for more than 25 years.  His piloting skills are unparalleled and critical to the success of our work.

notes from the field

Don also shares a humor and camaraderie that raises us from an efficient team to a family sharing the beauty of observing nature and living in the wilderness.  Don also has an affection for animals that occasionally, well, makes the other moose jealous.
