In early March 2003, the President of Mesalands College, Dr. Phillip Barry (in the picture to the left), personally delivered this special gift to us.  Mesalands college has a special interest in bronzed bones.  They are home to a department of fine arts that specializes in bronzing, a department of paleontology, and a dinosaur museum that is open to the public.  For more information about Mesalands visit their webpage at: www.mesalands.edu

This bronzed moose skull is an exact replica of an Isle Royale moose skull that we collected (with the help of EarthWatch volunteers) in the summer of 1999.  It has the largest set of antlers ever found on an Isle Royale moose skull (51 inches or 129 cm wide).  This bronzed moose skull adds to Mesaland's first gift of a bronzed wolf skull.
